Summary: Learn about the key documents to apply for a FASTag from IDFC FIRST Bank. Submit documents online or at a branch for A seamless verification and speedy issuance of the RFID tag to start using cashless toll payments on national highways.
The National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program has transformed India's toll payment system with FASTags. However, acquiring a FASTag requires submitting certain important documents to the issuing bank or authority to verify identity and ownership details. This comprehensive guide covers all key documents and processes involved in applying for a FASTag.
When it comes to submitting an application for a FASTag, one of the most important documents is the vehicle's Registration Certificate (RC). This document is the primary proof of ownership. An RC contains details like registration number, chassis number, engine number, make/model, seating capacity, date of registration, fuel type, and the owner's name and address.
Four-wheeler vehicle owners must provide front and back side copies of the RC card. If the RC is lost or temporarily unavailable, these alternate documents required for FASTag can be given instead:
Owner identification documents
Your FASTag KYC will be completed using these documents.
Below are documents you can submit as address proof:
If the vehicle is registered in a company/trust/partnership name, submit the following documents:
For commercial vehicles, these additional papers may be required.
1. Online - Sign up on the IDFC FIRST Bank FASTag portal. Register and upload scanned/digital copies of the FASTag documents.
2. Offline - Visit the nearest branch with originals and photocopies of documents for verification and submission.
Once the verification is complete by the bank within 3-5 working days, the FASTag will be issued through India Post speed post. Stick it on the vehicle window as per instructions. The tag is activated within 24 hours of affixing for use at toll lanes.
The FASTag issued by IDFC FIRST Bank needs to be affixed on the vehicle's windscreen within a stipulated time period, after which it will get activated automatically for contactless toll payments within 24 hours.
With the comprehensive list of documents outlined, applying for a FASTag is easier than ever. Timely submission to IDFC FIRST Bank ensures a quick approval and provision of the RFID-enabled tag to start contactless toll payments across India's highways which helps in streamlining interstate travel journeys.
