Yes, there are general exclusions applicable to all insurance coverages under IDFC FIRST Bank credit cards. These include:
• No coverage for international inbound flights to India.
• Partial loss or damage is not compensated.
• Valuables such as jewellery, electronics, and perishable items in baggage are excluded.
• Loss or damage arising from terrorism, terrorist activities, or acts of terrorism are not covered.
• On-duty pilots, armed forces, police, and aircrew are excluded.
• Death due to dangerous sports, attempted suicide, self-injury, intoxication, or natural causes is not covered.
• Losses from mysterious disappearance, gross negligence, or deliberate breach of law are excluded.
• Claims related to bank server hacking or data breaches, and fraudulent transactions by known persons are not covered.
• Jewellery, and perishable items are not covered
• Losses caused by earthquakes are not covered
• For Personal Accident and Air Accident Claims:
In case of the cardholder’s accidental death, the legal nominee must notify IDFC FIRST Bank and Marsh India within 90 days of the accident. Claim documents must be submitted within 60 days from the date of intimation.

The cardholder must inform IDFC FIRST Bank and Marsh India within 30 days of the incident. All claim documents should be submitted within 60 days from the date of intimation.

If your checked-in baggage is lost during an international flight where your ticket was purchased using your IDFC FIRST Bank credit card, you can receive compensation up to the insured sum for the total loss of your baggage. Additionally, you will be reimbursed for emergency purchases of basic essential items like clothes, toothpaste, and toothbrush—no invoice is required for this claim.
Please note:
• Valuables such as electronics, jewellery, antiques, and other specified items are not covered.
• Partial loss or damage is not compensated.
• The benefit applies only if your credit card was active, meaning you made at least one purchase or ATM withdrawal in the 30 days before the incident.
To file a claim, report the loss to the airline immediately to obtain a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) or non-delivery certificate and submit it along with your claim to the insurance provider as per the bank’s instructions.
The travel insurance benefits on IDFC FIRST Bank credit cards apply only to international travel when the airline ticket is purchased using the card. Coverage includes loss or delay of checked baggage, loss of passport or travel documents, and flight delays on international flights. These benefits are not applicable for domestic travel.
Purchase protection on IDFC FIRST Bank credit cards provide coverage against damage or loss due to standard fire, allied perils, and burglary at the cardholder's residential premises. This insurance is valid for 60 days from the date of purchase and applies only to purchases made using the IDFC FIRST Bank credit card. The cardholder must be an active user, having completed at least one purchase or ATM withdrawal transaction within the last 30 days.
The coverage limits vary by card type as follows:
• ₹25,000 for FIRST Millennia, FIRST Classic, FIRST WOW!, FIRST Power, FIRST Power+, LIC Classic, FIRST SWYP, and FIRST EA₹N credit cards
• ₹50,000 for FIRST Select and Employee credit cards
• ₹50,000 for Ashva, Mayura, FIRST Wealth, Club Vistara, FIRST Purchase, FIRST Corporate, and FIRST Business credit cards
• ₹50,000 for LIC Select credit cards
• ₹5,00,000 for FIRST Private credit cards
