IDFC FIRST Bank is the first bank in India to bring Payment Passkey to its Visa Credit Card customers. OTPs can be delayed or fail to deliver altogether, leaving your payment incomplete. With Payment Passkey, simply use your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern to verify yourself, and your payment goes through instantly.
It works across merchants enabled with Visa Passkey when you pay online using your IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card. The first time you shop online, you’ll be guided to quickly set up your Passkey during checkout. Once set up, future payments become faster, safer, and hassle-free with simple biometric authentication.

The first time you pay online with your IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card, you'll be guided to set up your Passkey during checkout. Just verify with your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern, and you're good to go, no separate app needed.

Is there a fee to use Payment Passkey?

No. Payment Passkey is completely free for IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card holders.

Do I need to download a new app?

No. Payment Passkey works through the Visa checkout screen on participating websites and uses the security system already built into your phone or computer.

Can I use Payment Passkey on my IDFC FIRST Bank Credit Card?

Payment Passkey is currently available on the following IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Cards: Ashva, Mayura, FIRST WOW!, Diamond Reserve, FIRST Select, FIRST Classic, FIRST Wealth, FIRST Millennia, Gaj: Credit Card, and FIRST Private Credit Card.

How does Payment Passkey work?

When you pay online with your IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card, your device recognises your Passkey and prompts you to authenticate using your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern. Your payment is approved instantly.

Will I still need OTPs sometimes?

If you are shopping on a website that does not yet support Payment Passkey, a standard OTP will be used to complete your purchase.

Can I link multiple IDFC FIRST Bank cards to my Passkey?

Yes. You can create and use a Passkey for all your IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Cards. Each card can be enrolled separately for Passkey authentication

Can I use my Passkey across multiple devices?

Yes. However, each new device requires a separate setup the first time you pay online from that device.

Is Payment Passkey secure?

Yes, completely. Your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern never leaves your device and is never seen by IDFC FIRST Bank or Visa. Authentication happens entirely on your phone, and your Passkey works only on the device you registered.

Is my biometric data shared with anyone?

No, your fingerprint or face scan never leaves your device. Your phone verifies your identity locally, whether through biometrics, device PIN, or unlock pattern. It sends a secure cryptographic signal to complete the transaction. IDFC FIRST Bank and the merchant never see this verification data.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?

Your Passkey cannot be used without your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern. Even if someone has your phone, they cannot approve a payment without this verification.

Can I use my Passkey on a shared device?

Payment Passkey is designed for personal devices only. We recommend using it only on your personal phone or laptop.

What happens if I lose or change my device?

You will need to set up your Passkey again the next time you pay online with your IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card.  
When changing your device, we strongly recommend deactivating the Passkey from your old device via the Visa Consumer Portal or your device's security settings.

What happens if my IDFC FIRST Bank Credit Card is lost or replaced?

Once you receive your new card, no immediate action is needed. Simply use it to pay online and you will be guided to set up your Passkey at checkout.

Can I delete or disable my Payment Passkey?

Yes, you can manage, disable, or re-enable your Passkey anytime by visiting in.auth.visa.com. Your future transactions will return to standard OTP verification.
