IDFC FIRST Bank is introducing Payment Passkey on its Visa Credit Cards, enabling faster, safer, and hassle-free payments across Passkey-enabled merchants with a simple one-time setup.

Step-by-step guide to Manage Payment Passkey

Enter your IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card details at checkout on merchants enabled with Visa Passkey

You are redirected to the authentication page

Step 3

You are taken to a Visa page to create your Payment Passkey as one-time set up

Step 4

Authenticate using your device credentials like PIN, pattern, fingerprint or Face ID

Step 5

Your Passkey is created and saved for all future payments

Your existing Passkey is automatically recognised

Visit the official Visa consumer portal at in.auth.visa.com from the same device you used to set up your Passkey

Go to Manage Account to view your saved IDFC FIRST Bank cards and active Passkeys

Select the specific IDFC FIRST Bank card for which you want to deactivate the Passkey

Confirm your consent to disable. Future transactions on that card will revert to standard OTP authentication

Is there a fee to use Payment Passkey?

No. Payment Passkey is completely free for IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Card holders.

Do I need to download a new app?

No. Payment Passkey works through the Visa checkout screen on participating websites and uses the security system already built into your phone or computer.

Which IDFC FIRST Bank Credit Cards support Payment Passkey and can I register multiple cards?

Payment Passkey is currently available on the following IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Cards: Ashva, Mayura, FIRST WOW!, Diamond Reserve, FIRST Select, FIRST Classic, FIRST Wealth, FIRST Millennia, Gaj Credit Card, FIRST Private Credit Card

Yes. You can create and use a Passkey for all your eligible IDFC FIRST Bank Visa Credit Cards. Each card can be enrolled separately for Passkey authentication.

How secure is Payment Passkey and is my biometric data shared?

Payment Passkey is highly secure. Your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern never leaves your device and is never shared with IDFC FIRST Bank, VISA, or merchants.

Will I still need OTPs sometimes?

Yes. If you are shopping on a website that does not yet support Payment Passkey, a standard OTP will be used to complete your purchase

Can I use my Passkey across multiple devices?

Yes. However, each new device requires a separate Passkey setup the first time you make an online payment from that device.

What happens if my device is lost, stolen, or replaced?

If your phone is lost or stolen, your Passkey cannot be used without your fingerprint, Face ID, device PIN, or unlock pattern. Even if someone gains possession of your device, they cannot authenticate payments without this verification.

If you replace or change your device, you will need to set up Payment Passkey again the next time you make an eligible online transaction. When changing devices, it is recommended that you deactivate the Passkey on your old device through the Visa Consumer Portal.

Can I use my Passkey on a shared device?

Payment Passkey is designed for personal devices only. IDFC FIRST Bank recommends using it only on your personal devices only.

What happens if my IDFC FIRST Bank Credit Card is lost or replaced?

Once you receive your replacement card, no immediate action is required. Simply use the new card for an online transaction, and you will be guided through the Passkey setup process during checkout.

Can I delete or disable my Payment Passkey?

Yes. You can manage, disable, or re-enable your Passkey at any time through the Visa Consumer Portal. Once disabled, future transactions will revert to standard OTP-based authentication.
