Fire insurance policy covers damage and losses caused by fire. It helps to cover the cost of replacement, repair or reconstruction of property.
Property that can be covered under this insurance is as below:
Building /Structure including Plinth and Foundation, Boundary Walls, Water Tanks, Internal Roads, Parking
Contents including Plant and Machinery, Furniture, Fixtures, Fittings, Electronic items like AC, Refrigerator, TV, Personal Computer

Fire Insurance protects from the damage:
• During or immediately following a fire caused by Smoke, Heat, Scorching and falling walls.
• Due to Water or any other extinguishing media used in putting out fire.
• Due to collapse of Floors and roofs consequent to fire.
• To property whilst being removed from the burning building in an effort to mitigate the loss.

Fire - (Excluding destruction or damage due to its own fermentation, natural heating or spontaneous combustion, undergoing any heating or drying process, burning of property ordered by Public Authority
Lightning - (with or without actual ignition)
Explosion/Implosion - (Excluding damage to non-domestic boilers vessels, machinery or apparatus in which steam is generated, damage due to centrifugal forces)
Aircraft Damage - (Inclusion: aerial or space devices, Exclusion: Loss due to pressure waves)
Riot, Strike, Malicious and Damage - (Inclusion: visible physical damage or destruction by external violent means, Exclusion: Total or partial cessation, interruption of work , Burglary, housebreaking, theft, larceny and omission)
Storm, Cyclone, Typhoon, Tempest, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood and Inundation - (Exclusion: Cracking, Faulty design etc.)
Impact Damage - (by any Rail/ Road vehicle or animal)
Subsidence and Landslide including Rock slide
Bursting and/or overflowing of Water Tanks, Apparatus and Pipes

- Compulsory Excess i.e. policy deductibles
- War & War group of perils
- Nuclear group of perils
- Pollution and Contamination
- Bullion or unset precious stones, manuscripts etc.
- Other specified exclusions
- Electrical or Mechanical breakdowns
- Loss of earning, market or other consequential loss etc.
- Loss or Damage due to Earthquake, Volcano or other convulsions of nature
- Loss, destruction or damage to the stocks in Cold Storage premises caused by change of temperature.
