IDFC FIRST BANK ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

IDFC FIRST Bank Engineering Scholarship is a need-based scholarship for students with family income of less than INR 6 lakhs per annum. The purpose of this scholarship is to make engineering studies accessible to meritorious students who are unable to pursue higher studies due to financial constraints.

Award

INR 4,00,000 for four years of full-time Engineering studies ( 1 Lakh p.a. subject to T&C)
Scholarship Amount: Fee of one year or 1 lakh p.a. (whichever is lower)

About the Scholarship

The IDFC FIRST Bank Engineering Scholarship Program is a need-based financial assistance program designed for engineering students who have secured admission in select B-Tech/BE colleges in India. The program covers a part of eligible students’ fees for four-year* full-time engineering degrees.

Eligible for students who are currently in the first year of their B-Tech / BE course from select colleges in India.

Engineering students with less than 6 lacs per annum household income are eligible.

Students who have not received any other scholarship or tuition fee waiver for their engineering course.

• Candidate should be enrolled in the first year of their full time engineering degree course (B.E./ B. Tech Degree)

• Courses such as Diploma in Engineering are not eligible

• Candidates opting for dual-degree / part time / distance learning / diploma/ exchange programs in engineering are not eligible for the scholarship

• Available only to Indian nationals

• Scholarship will be awarded for 4 years only (subject to the scholar passing all exams) and not beyond this tenure

• Once selected, the scholar needs to submit marksheets of each passing year to be eligible for the next year’s scholarship. Only students who pass their exams will be awarded scholarships for subsequent years

• Home-visit verification is a mandatory step for the selection of scholars. If the applicant fails to facilitate /ensure the needful or is unable to comply with the process within the stipulated timeframe, his/her candidature shall be rejected

• The scholarship fund can be utilized only for academic expenses purposes and will only be transferred to a student’s college bank account. The same shall be adjusted by the college against the tuition fee to be paid by the student

• IDFC FIRST Bank does not transfer any scholarship amount to students’ bank accounts. It is the sole responsibility of the scholar to ensure that the college submits all its KYC documents for vendor empanelment for scholarship disbursal within the stipulated timeframe. Failure to do so may lead to revocation of scholarship

• Scholarship recipients must submit their testimonials and acknowledgement receipts after the scholarship award has been disbursed to their college accounts

• The final awardees will be selected solely at the discretion of IDFC FIRST Bank

• If an applicant /scholarship recipient agrees to explore the possibility of availing a student loan from the bank, as indicated during his/her application submission stage, it will be deemed as an act of authorization by him/her to the bank and/or its representatives or its agents to communicate with him/her in the future via email, phone or SMS pertaining to his/her application or to other promotional activities.

I am not in the first year of my engineering degree, can I apply for the scholarship?

No, only students in first year of their full-time engineering degree course are eligible for the scholarship

I cannot find my college name in the list of eligible colleges, how do I apply?

Applicants who cannot find their college on the list of eligible colleges are ineligible to apply for the IDFC FIRST Bank Engineering Scholarship.

Will I receive this scholarship for subsequent years of my engineering studies?

Yes, eligible students will receive the scholarship amount for subsequent years of their course duration, provided that they clear their exams successfully. Kindly refer to the T&Cs for more information.

What are some common mistakes applicants make while submitting their scholarship application?

Based on past applications, here are the most frequent mistakes scholars make:

Uploading an Expired Income Certificate

Ensure that your income certificate is valid and issued within the required timeframe. Expired certificates will lead to rejection or delays in processing.

Not Reading the Terms and Conditions Before Signing

Many applicants skip reading the detailed terms and conditions, which results in agreeing to terms they may not fully understand. Please read all instructions carefully before submission.

Entering the Annual Course Fee Instead of the Total Course Fee

The form requires you to enter the total course fee for the entire duration (e.g., 2 or 4 years), but many applicants mistakenly enter just one year's fee. Please confirm this with your institution before submission.
