Lend A Shoulder is our employee volunteering initiative that enables structured engagement in community development through the contribution of time, skills, and expertise. The program reflects our commitment to creating sustainable social impact while fostering a culture of purpose and responsibility among employees.
Program Overview
Implemented through a combination of direct interventions under FIRST IMPACT and partnership‑led programs with NGOs including Head Held High, LAS focuses on working with various communities, target-groups and cause areas.
Community needs were systematically mapped and aligned with the strengths and capabilities of different departments, enabling meaningful cross‑functional collaboration. Department Heads and Goodwill Ambassadors played a pivotal role in mobilising employee volunteers, while leadership pledges of Social Good hours ensured sustained engagement. Leaders consistently honoured these pledges, working alongside their teams to address identified needs and enable interventions that were targeted, measurable, and designed for long‑term impact.
Key Interventions across Thematic Areas were as below
Education Support
As part of our commitment towards strengthening foundational education, activities focused on creating learning aids for students and enhancing school infrastructure. These interventions aimed to improve learning outcomes across schools in multiple cities.
Youth Mentorship
As part of our commitment towards empowering youth, mentorship sessions were conducted focusing on career readiness, communication skills, and personality development. These engagements enhanced awareness, built confidence, and supported informed decision‑making among participants.
Inclusion Initiatives
As part of our commitment towards inclusive and equitable education, employees supported the creation of customised learning aids for students with visual impairments, enabling improved accessibility and more inclusive learning experiences.
Community Health
As part of our commitment towards community well‑being, blood donation camps were organised under our health initiatives. These efforts contributed to lifesaving support for patients while encouraging voluntary participation and community engagement.
Environmental Engagement
As part of our commitment towards environmental sustainability, initiatives focused on lake restoration activities. Employees came together to support ecosystem rejuvenation, biodiversity conservation, and improved water quality for surrounding communities.
Through the Lend-A-Shoulder Employee Volunteering Program, over 10000 employees at IDFC First Bank have dedicated their time and skills to contribute to social causes, collectively volunteering for more than 21,500 hours. They shared their expertise on Communication, Digital Literacy, Business, Information Technology, Marketing, Finance and more. By dedicating their time and skills, employees can play a vital role in addressing community needs and making a difference in the lives of others. These efforts have had a significant impact on the lives of 5,21,431 individuals across India.
