Ek Prayas
The IDFC FIRST Bank Ek Prayas is designed and developed to focus on nurturing promising early-stage rural NGOs that deliver high-quality special needs services to children with developmental delays and disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Through an innovative and structured pedagogy, the program equips teachers with essential knowledge of developmental disabilities and effective teaching practices, offered through both traditional and virtual learning formats. This industry-first approach enables rural NGO partners to design and deliver robust early intervention programs in the fields of intellectual disabilities and autism.
Under Ek Prayas, we support NGOs in establishing specialized centers and provide comprehensive assistance for three years. The program follows a graduation-based model, with a strong emphasis on long-term sustainability. Our objective is to ensure that these centers continue to operate independently after the conclusion of our funding. To achieve this, we work closely with partners on capacity building and fundraising strategies, enabling them to sustain center operations from the fourth year onward.
We are currently working in Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi with six different NGO partners:

- 1. Sankalpa Vikalchetanra Shikshanika & Grameenabhirudhi Samsthe(R) in Davangere and Vijayanagara district
- 2. Shri B. D. Tatti (Annawaru) Memorial Charitable Trust in Gadag and Dharwad district
- • Maharashtra: Aarambh Society for Autism And Slow Learner Children, in Chat. Sambhaji Nagar district
- • West Bengal: Bandhu Purulia in Purulia district
- • Uttar Pradesh: SPARC India in Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow district
- • Delhi: Delhi Council for Child Welfare (DCCW) in Janakpuri
