Personal Loan
Setting up an e-mandate for a FIRSTmoney personal loan on the IDFC FIRST Bank mobile app or web is a paperless process compliant with RBI guidelines covering personal loan EMIs.
An e-mandate is a digital instruction that authorises a bank to deduct recurring payments such as personal loan EMI from a linked bank account on a fixed date. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced it to replace paper-based ECS forms with a faster, OTP verified method.
Auto Pay removes the need to track your personal loan EMI due dates each month which means:
No missed EMIs
Security aligned with RBI guidelines
Advance debit alerts
You can set up e-mandate for your FIRSTmoney personal loan during the loan application process via UPI, debit card or net banking. Once set up, your EMI gets auto debited on your chosen date between 3rd to 8th of a month.
The e-mandate is registered against the total sanctioned loan amount. However, the actual amount debited each month will only be your fixed EMI.
You may cancel the mandate through your beneficiary bank.
You can check the status of your e-mandate with your beneficiary bank.
OTP delivery delay: Network congestion delays the OTP. Requesting a resend usually helps
Expired debit card: A mandate on an expired card fails authentication and needs re-registration
Insufficient account balance: If the linked account for personal loan does not have enough balance on the EMI debit date, the mandate fails and may attract a penalty.
Outdated app version: An older app may hide current options. Updating the app may restore the latest features and menu options
Mismatched account details: Registration fails if account or mobile number does not match KYC, make sure to double-check details when registering
An e-mandate turns personal loan EMI repayment into a one-time digital setup rather than a monthly hassle.
For flexible borrowing options like the FIRSTmoney instant loan where you draw funds on demand, this automation is particularly helpful because it enables automatic EMI debits within the registered mandate limit, reducing the need for manual repayments each month. For subsequent withdrawals, you can also choose a different EMI date between 3rd to 8th of a month based on your convenience.
No, IDFC FIRST Bank does not charge a separate fee for setting up auto pay.
If your auto-debit fails for any reason, the personal loan EMI can be paid manually through the mobile banking app or the quick pay link.
