Stipend Program for Women with Disabilities
IDFC FIRST Bank in partnership with Om Creations Trust supported monthly stipends for women with multiple intellectual disabilities working at Om Creations Trust. These women were trained in production of a wide range of art and food products that were sold by Om Creations Trust and the revenue thus generated was ploughed back into training these women. This program was an effort to enable livelihoods support for women with disabilities who were often unable to access mainstream employment, thereby making them financially independent.
The Bank’s CSR team also conducted capacity building workshops for the staff of Om Creations Trust on topics such as Log Framework Analysis and developing Theory of Change.
This program was closed in FY 2023-24
Our Impact
We have supported stipends for 278 women since the commencement of the program in 2018. The training is provided under guidance of special educators who train these women based on their individual capacities.
