Your financial picture is more than what sits in your savings account. It is the sum of everything you own, from savings and investments to retirement funds, minus everything you owe. If you have been searching for how to calculate net worth without juggling multiple apps and statements, IDFC FIRST Bank's Net Worth feature turns your savings account into the starting point for your complete financial picture, working as a personal net worth tracker built right into your banking app.
The Net Worth feature shows how healthy your finances are by calculating the difference between your total assets and total liabilities, starting with your IDFC FIRST Bank savings account and expanding as you connect more accounts. It updates automatically as your balances change, giving you a current view without manual calculations.
This is how to calculate net worth: Net Worth = Total Assets - Total Liabilities and how the feature builds that number for you:
Auto-fetch: Assets and liabilities with IDFC FIRST Bank, including your savings account, load automatically once you unlock the dashboard.
Connected accounts: Connect external savings accounts, deposits, stocks, mutual funds, ETF, NPS, EPF and loans. You can also manually enter assets like gold and silver.
*Support for connecting external credit cards, insurance and real estate is coming soon.
Once you unlock the dashboard from your savings account, a mix of automatic and connected accounts feeds into your total:
IDFC FIRST Bank accounts: Assets, liabilities and deposits update in real time
External savings and stocks: Refresh once daily
Mutual funds and EPF: Update on demand, refreshed anytime you choose
Fixed Deposits: Counted as assets at their principal amount, including tax-saving FDs
EPF balance: Includes both employee and employer contributions, along with annual interest
Manual loans: Add and edit anytime with the correct outstanding amount reflected
Bringing your financial data together in one place is the first step towards forecasting where your money is headed. Account Aggregator frameworks, regulated to enable secure, consent-based sharing of financial data across institutions, make it possible to build a complete view of your savings, investments and loans without repeated paperwork.
IDFC FIRST Bank's Net Worth feature draws on this same principle, which positions it well to add goal-based tracking and predictive insights as the feature grows. A groundwork of accurate, consolidated data means that a future net worth calculator Indian users can plan ahead with draws on figures you already trust.
Once your accounts are connected, the feature keeps working to keep your figures current. It relies on trusted partners across the financial ecosystem: an Account Aggregator for consent-based bank and loan data, MF Central for mutual fund holdings, EPFO for EPF balances and Credit Bureau data for verified liabilities like credit card dues.
If a connected account stops syncing, you receive a notification and can refresh or re-connect it in a few taps. Every account you add or remove stays within your control, and you can exclude any asset or liability from your calculation at any time. This makes it a genuinely useful personal net worth tracker rather than a one-time snapshot.
A few reasons make this feature, built on top of your savings account, worth relying on for your day-to-day financial view:
Bank-level security: Encryption and consent-based access keep your data private.
No credit impact: Connecting accounts and viewing net worth does not affect your credit score.
Real-time updates: IDFC FIRST Bank accounts, loans and deposits reflect instantly.
Multiple loans: Track loans fetched automatically or added manually in one place.
Full control: Remove or edit any asset or liability whenever you want.
Knowing where your net worth stands is the first step towards planning your finances with confidence and having that figure update on its own removes the guesswork. IDFC FIRST Bank's Net Worth feature brings your savings account, investments, retirement savings and loans together in one view, so your financial picture stays accurate without manual tracking.
You can manually calculate your net worth by subtracting your total liabilities, such as loans and credit card dues, from your total assets, including savings, investments and property, or calculate it using a net worth calculator.
Accuracy depends on how current and complete the underlying data is. A net worth calculator in India that connects directly to your accounts, rather than requiring manual entry, tends to give more reliable results as your balances update automatically.
No, connecting accounts for net worth tracking is read-only and has no impact on your credit score or financial standing.
